Global Academic Services (GAS-edu) is a member Hillsom Information Network Inc., a Canada based company in the online information dissemination business. The main activity of GAS-edu revolves around providing International Credential Evaluation services (ICE) and International Degree Certification (IDC) for individuals who want to add an international recognition to their already earned degrees.
While it is a fact that educational fields and graduates status differ widely among countries and that the idea of harmonizing the various systems does not seem realistic, however, with the on-going globalisation coupled with the democratisation of the educational system, there is an urgent need for a standardisation of certifications in order to increase the mobility of individuals around the world. The correspondence among degrees becomes the way to increase this mobility of learned individuals from one country to another without loosing the credentials acquired from their original degree. Some institutions in the USA are trying to achieving that goal by way of academic credentials evaluation but there is not yet, a formal two-way correspondence recognition setting, allowing graduates worldwide to compare each other. Our objective is to formalize the existing correspondence degree among institutions by way of issuing a certification of correspondence that creates a comfort zone and represents a reference degree for any graduate whose institution graduation requirements meet those of major North American universities graduation standards. In that sense, the IDC sets by GAS-edu is a dual certification based on the original degree earned through a traditional education institution.
